Our Story
NYC Greek Picnic was founded on a vision much larger than a single event. It was built from a desire to restore connection, celebrate culture, and create a space where unity within the Divine Nine and Multicultural Greek Organizations could thrive. This vision was brought to life by two founders who saw what was missing and chose to build what was needed.
Dave C. Harris and Temilayo Anthony founded NYC Greek Picnic with a shared understanding that New York City, despite its size and diversity, lacked a central space where members of Greek-letter organizations could intentionally gather beyond parties and at campus events.
From the beginning, the intention was never to host “just another picnic.” The goal was to create an experience that reflected the values of Greek life, brotherhood, sisterhood, scholarship, leadership, and service on a citywide scale. Along with an empowered committee of dedicated individuals; (Isaiah Bien-Aise, Sylvie Grand-Pierre, Josh Rodgers, Yaya Diawara, Alexis Smith, Mamadou Barry, Erolyn Leitch, Marielle Joseph, NiaGrace Steele, and Ocean Septh-Bullock) NYC Greek Picnic was designed as a cultural event that honored tradition while uniting organizations that had long existed in parallel but rarely in community.
What started as a vision between two people has grown into a living movement that continues to evolve with each committee member, each volunteer, and each attendee who passes through its gates.
NYC Greek Picnic is not simply an event.
It's a Culture
It's a Legacy
It is a commitment to unity, service, and Celebration within the Greek Community
And it is only just beginning!
